These mitered dishcloths are fun to crochet and have ridges to help get your dishes clean. Choose from three color combinations or choose any two shades to coordinate with your kitchen décor.

Gauge/Tension:     GAUGE: 19 sc and 11 rows = 4” (10 cmin dc. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

Washcloth measures 7” x 7” (17.8 x 17.8 cm)

HANGING LOOP

With B, ch 10 and join with a slip st to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 1, work 25 sc in ring, join with a slip st in first sc. Fasten off, leaving a 6-8” (15-20 cm) sewing length.

BODY

Note: Work in back loop only throughout Body.

Row 1 (right side): With right side facing, join A with a slip st in back loop of any sc, ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), working in back loop only, dc in each of next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc, dc in each of next 3 sc; turn – 11 dc. Place a marker in center st and move marker up as work progresses.

Row 2: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each dc across to marked st, 3 sc in marked center dc, sc in each dc across; turn – 13 sc.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in each sc across to marked st, 5 dc in marked center sc, dc in each sc across; turn – 17 dc.

Rows 4-20: Repeat Rows 2-3 (8 times); then rep Row 2 once – 67 sc at end of last row.

STRIPING

Row 1 (wrong side): With wrong side facing and Hanging Loop on bottom, working in remaining loops of sts in Row 1 of Body, join B with a slip st in first dc, ch 1, sc in each dc across, loosely slip st in side of next sc row, turn – 11 sc.

Row 2 (right side): Working in remaining free loops of sts in same sc row of Body, sc in each st across, 2 slip st in side of next dc row, turn – 13 sc.

Row 3 (wrong side): Working in remaining free loops of sts in same dc row of Body, sc in each st across, slip st in side of next dc row, turn – 17 sc.

Rows 4-20: Repeat Rows 2-3 (8 times; then repeat Row 2 once – 67 sc at end of last row. Fasten off.

Row 21: With right side facing, join A with a slip st at base of first dc in Row 1 of Body, work 7 surface crochet slip sts evenly spaced across base of Row 1. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Weave in ends.
