Skill: Easy

Size: About 12”wide x 15” tall, before handles.

Materials: Yarn Needle; Sport Weight Cotton Yarn – 4 oz, 400 yd

(112 g, 360 m).

Crochet Hook: Size F-5 (3.75 mm) and G-6 (4.00 mm) or sizes needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: Rnd 1 = 1” wide.

Rnd 1: With smaller hook, ch 47, 5 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 42 ch, 6 dc in last ch; working around other side in unused lps of starting ch, dc in next 42 ch; join with sl st to first dc. (96 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in next 5 dc, dc in next 42 dc, 2 dc in next 6 dc, dc in next 42 dc; join with sl st to first dc. (108 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each dc around; join with sl st to first dc. (108 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, (ch 4, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc) around to last 2 dc, ch 1, dc in first sc to form last ch-4 sp. (36 ch-4 sps)

Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in sp just formed, (ch 4, sc in next ch-4 sp) around.  DO NOT JOIN, MARK ENDS OF RNDS.

Rnd 6: (Ch 4, sc in next ch-4 sp) around.

Rep Rnd 6 until work measures 15”, or desired height. Finish off and weave in ends.

Handle (Make 2)

Using a double strand of yarn and larger hook, ch 60, being careful not to twist chain, join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 2, (2 hdc in first ch, hdc in next 3 ch) fifteen times; join with sl st to first hdc. (75 hdc) Finish off leaving long end for sewing.

Finishing

Lay bag on flat surface. Using long ends, sew handles to center top of each side of bag.
