Designer Marguerite Hill wrote: “ I love the stitch pattern used in Maggie’s dishcloth #7 Pinky Stripes with the repeats of sc, dc and had a few years ago designed a shrug using this same combination. The only problem or challenge was to figure out how to increase and decrease for the design. I had to increase in the middle of each piece to form the sleeves. You needed to make sure in decreasing to go over to the next available sc to pick up the pattern again, to get the stitches consistent. I tried to make it easier by incorporating a row of sc between the pattern row of sc, dc. Now I have been doing rectangles for Warm Up America with this combination, and of course used it for this dishcloth. Maybe it will become a blanket for another time?”
Thank you Marguerite for joining the Dishcloth-A-Day Challenge!
