Candy Cane Blocks Dishcloth

Skill: Easy
Size: About 10” square
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn; Red – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m) White – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m) Green – ½ oz, 25 yds (15 g, 23 m)
Crochet Hook:
Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

To Change Colors
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo and pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

DISHCLOTH
Block
(Make 4)
Row 1:
(Right Side) With Red, ch 17, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (16 sc)
Rows 2-4:
Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (16 sc) At the end of Row 4, change color to White.
Row 5:
With White, ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (16 sc)
Rows 6-8:
Rep Rows 2-4.
At the end of Row 8, change color to Red.
Row 9:
With Red, ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (16 sc)
Rows 10-12:
Rep Rows 2-4.
At the end of Row 12, change color to White.
Row 13:
With White, ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (16 sc)
Rows 14-16:
Rep Rows 2-4.
At the end of Row 16, finish off and weave in ends.

Assembly – use photo as guide.
- Lay out the four blocks in desired pattern and sew together.

Edging
Rnd 1:
With right side of dishcloth facing, join Green with sc to any st, sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
