Skill: Easy
Size: About 8” wide and 10” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: Blue - 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m); Green – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m); White – 1½ oz, 75 yds, (45 g, 69 m)(Lily Sugar ‘n Cream – Robin’s Egg Blue, Hot Green, White)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
To Change Colors
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo and pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Shell: (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same st or sp indicated.
Long Stitch (L-st): Working over previous row in row below that, [yo, insert hook, draw up lp to height of dc] twice in same st or sp indicated, yo and pull through 5 lps on hook.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) With Blue, ch 30, dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch count as first dc), dc in next ch, skip next 4 ch, [Shell in next ch, skip next 4 ch] across to last 2 ch, dc in last 2 ch. (4 shells and 4 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, dc in next dc, [shell in next shell] across, ending with dc in last 2 dc; change color to Green.
Row 3: With Green, ch 3, turn, dc in next dc, L-st in sp before next shell, [shell in next shell, L-st before next shell] across ending with L-st before last 2 dc, dc in last 2 dc.
Rows 4-5: Ch 3, turn, dc in next dc, [shell in next shell] across, ending with dc in last 2 dc.
At the end of Row 5, change color to White.
Rows 6-8: With White, rep Rows 3-5. At the end of Row 8, change color to Blue.
Rows 9-11: With Blue, rep Rows 3-5. At the end of Row 11, change color to Green.
Row 12-14: With Green, rep Rows 3-5. At the end of Row 14, change color to White. DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn (right side facing), 3 sc in first dc, sc in next dc, L-st in sp before next shell, [sc in next 2 dc, 2 sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in next dc, L-st before next shell] across, ending with L-st before last 2 dc, sc in next dc, 3 sc in last dc; * working in sides of rows, evenly sc across *; working in starting ch on other side, 3 sc in first ch, [4 sc in skipped ch-4, sc in next ch] across, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in center sc of each corner 3-sc group; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
