Skill: Intermediate
Size: About 8” wide and 9½” long
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: White – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m); Peach – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m); Light Peach – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m)(Sugar ‘n Cream)
Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Popcorn (pc): Work 3 dc in same st, drop lp from hook, insert hook in first st of 3 dc group, pick up dropped lp, draw through st.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) With White, ch 27, dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc), [dc in next ch] across. (25 dc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), turn, skip next dc, dc in next dc, [ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc] across. (13 dc and 12 ch-1 sps)
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, [skip next ch-sp, dc in next dc, working over dc just made, dc in skipped ch-sp] across. Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 4: With right side facing, join Peach with sc in first dc, [ch 3, (dc, pc, dc) in side of last sc made, skip next 3 dc, sc in next dc] across. Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 5: With right side facing, join White with sl st in first sc, ch 3, [ch 1, sc in 3rd ch of next ch-3, ch 1, dc in next sc] across.
Row 6: Ch 3, turn, [ch 1, dc in next sc, ch 1, dc in next dc] across.
Row 7: Rep Row 3.
Row 8: With right side facing, join Light Peach with sc in first dc, [ch 3, (dc, pc, dc) in side of last sc made, skip next 3 dc, sc in next dc] across. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rows 9-11: Rep Rows 5-7.
Rows 12-15: Rep Rows 4-7.
At the end of Row 15, DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging
Rnd 1: Ch 1, with right side facing, evenly sc around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Peach with sc to any corner, 2 sc in same sc, [sc in next sc] around, working 3 sc in each corner; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
