Skill: Easy
Size: About 8” wide and 9” long.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: Orange – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m); Dark Pink – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 46 m); Variegated - 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 46 m)(Sugar ‘n Cream -)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
To Change Colors
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo and pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Front Post Long Double Crochet: (FPLdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up long lp to height of sts on hook, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.
Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the FPLdc.
DISHCLOTH
Row 1: (Right Side) With Orange, ch 28, dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc), [dc in next ch] across. (26 dc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across; change color to Variegated.
Row 3: With Variegated, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, dc in next sc; working in Row 1, FPLdc in 3rd dc, [working in current row, dc in next 2 sc; working on Row 1, skip next 2 dc, FPLdc in next dc] across, ending with dc in last 2 sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across; change color to Dark Pink.
Row 5: With Dark Pink, ch 3, turn, dc in next sc; [FPLdc in FPLdc below, dc in next 2 sc] across.
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across; change color to Variegated.
Row 7: With Variegated, ch 3, turn, dc in next sc; [FPLdc in FPLdc below, dc in next 2 sc] across.
Row 8: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across; change color to Orange.
Row 9: With Orange, ch 3, turn, dc in next sc; [FPLdc in FPLdc below, dc in next 2 sc] across.
Row 10: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across; change color to Orange.
Row 11: With Variegated, ch 3, turn, dc in next sc; [FPLdc in FPLdc below, dc in next 2 sc] across.
Row 12-24: Rep Rows 4-11 once then Rows 4-8.
At the end of Row 24, finish off and weave in ends.
Border
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join Orange with sl st to first sc, 4 dc in same sc, dc evenly around, working 5 dc in each corner; join with sl st to first dc. Finish off and weave in ends.
