Size: About 9½” square
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: White – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 46 m); Pink – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 46 m)(Sugar ‘n Cream, Bernat Cottontots)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with White, ch 5, join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 2 dc in ring, [ch 2, 2 dc in ring] 3 times; ch 1, sc in first dc (to form last ch-2 sp and position yarn for next round). (12 dc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, sc in next 3 dc, [(2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in next ch-2 sp, sc in next 3 dc] 3 times, 2 sc in first sp, ch 1, sc in back lp of first sc (to form last ch-2 sp). (28 sc and 4 ch-2 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 3: With right side facing, join Pink with sc to back any ch-2 sp, (sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in same sp, working in back loops only, [sc in next sc] across to corner ch-2 sp, * (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in corner ch-2 sp, [sc in next sc] across to next corner ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st to first sc. (44 sc and 4 ch-2 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 4: With right side facing, join White with sl st to any ch-2 sp, ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch 2 now and throughout), dc in same sp, working in back loops only, [dc in next sc] across to next corner, * (dc, ch 2, dc) in corner ch-2 sp, [dc in next sc] across to next corner ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join. (52 dc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 5: Sl st to ch-2 sp, ch 5, dc in same sp, working in back loops only, [dc in next sc] across to next corner, * (dc, ch 2, dc) in corner ch-2 sp, [dc in next sc] across to next corner ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join. (60 dc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 6: Sl st to ch-2 sp, ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch 3), dc in same sp, working in back loops only, [dc in next sc] across to next corner, * (dc, ch 3, dc) in corner ch-2 sp, [dc in next sc] across to next corner ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join. (68 dc and 4 ch-3 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 7: With right side facing, join Pink with sc to any corner ch-3 sp, 2 sc in same sp, working in back loops only, [sc in next dc] across to next corner ch-3 sp, * 3 sc in ch-3 sp, [sc in next dc] across to next corner ch-3 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st to first sc. (80 sc)
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 3, [sc in next sc, ch 3] twice, * [skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 3] across to within 1 sc of next corner 3-sc group, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 3] 3 times; rep from * twice more, skip next sc, sc in next sc, [ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next sc] across to last sc, ch 1, skip last sc, hdc in first sc (to form last ch-3 sp). (44 ch-3 sps)
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same sp, [ch 4, sc in next ch-3 sp] around; ch 2, hdc in first sc (to form last ch-4 sp).
Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 5, [sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 5] around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
