Skill: Easy to Intermediate
Size: About 10” diameter.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Black – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m); Yellow – 2 oz, 100 yd (60 g, 92 m); (Sugar ‘n Cream – Black, Country Yellow)
Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)
Gauge: 6 dc = 2″, 3 dc rows = 2″

 

Special Stitches
Front Post Raised Double Crochet: (FPdc):
Yo, insert hook in front of work from right to left around post of next st of previous row, yo, pull up a lp, [yo, pull through 2 lps] twice.
Front Post Raised Single Crochet: (FPsc):
Insert hook in front of work from right to left around post of next st of previous row, yo, pull up a lp, [yo, pull through 2 lps] twice.

DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1:
(Right Side) Starting at center, with Black, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc. (6 sc)
Rnd 2:
Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around; join with sl st to front lp of first sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 3a:
Ch 1, working in front loops only, sc in first sc, ch 3 [sc in next sc, ch 3] 11 times; join with sl st to back lp of Rnd 2’s first sc. (12, sc, 12 ch-3 lps)
Rnd 3b:
Ch 1, working behind ch-3 lps in back loops of Rnd 2, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc] 5 times; join with sl st to first sc. (18 sc)
Rnd 4:
Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc] 5 times; join with sl st to front lp of first sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 5a:
Ch 1, working in front loops only, sc in first sc, ch 3 [sc in next sc, ch 3] 23 times; join with sl st to back lp of Rnd 4’s first sc. (24, sc, 24 ch-3 lps)
Rnd 5b:
Ch 1, working behind ch-3 lps in back loops only of Rnd 2, sc in each sc around; join with sl st to first sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 6:
Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc, [2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc] 5 times; join with sl st to first sc. (30 sc) Finish off Black and weave in ends.
Rnd 7:
With right side facing, join Yellow with sl st to any sc, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in first sc, dc in next 3 sc, 2 dc in next sc, [2 dc in next sc, dc in next 3 sc, 2 dc in next sc] 5 times; join with sl st to first dc. (42 dc)
Rnd 8:
Ch 3, dc in first dc, dc in next dc, FPdc in next dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, FPdc in next dc] 12 times; join. (52 dc)
Rnd 9:
Ch 3, dc in first dc, dc in next 2 dc, FPdc in next dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, FPdc in next dc] 12 times; join. (65 dc)
Rnd 10:
Ch 3, dc in first dc, dc in next 3 dc, FPdc in next dc, [2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, FPdc in next dc] 12 times; join. (78 dc)
Rnd 11:
Ch 1, hdc in first 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, hdc in next 2 dc, FPsc in next dc, [hdc in next 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, hdc in next 2 dc, FPsc in next dc] 12 times; join with sl st to first hdc. Finish off and weave in ends.

    I love sunflowers and this one turned out SO pretty! I particularly liked all the loopy stitches in the center :-) The texture is awesome.
