FINISHING

Ties (make 2)

Measure and cut two lengths of yarn at 100 (110, 120)” [250 (275, 300) cm] each. Holding the two yarn strands together, fold in half and put through one of the 8-sc loops at the bottom edge of the work. With the yarn still folded over, use the larger hook to work a ch to the end of the yarn. When about 4” (10 cm) remain, fasten off. If you are making tassels, leave yarn tails and do not weave them in. If you are not making tassels, weave in the ends of the ties.

Tassels (make 2; optional)

Make and attach tassels to the end of the ties if desired.

Pompom (optional)

Make and attach one extra-large pompom to the crown of the hat if desired. Secure it tightly and weave in any ends.
