Yarn needle

Make this rug for any room by simply changing up the colors to complement your décor. Starting at the center, it is crocheted in rounds with post stitches forming the radiating spokes.

Gauge/Tension:     GAUGE: 7 dc = 3” (7.5 cm); 4 rows = 3” (7.5 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Rug measures 37” (94 cm) in diameter.

Notes

1. Rug is worked in joined rounds with right side facing at all times.

2. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Cut old color.

Special Stitch

Fpdc (Front post double crochet) = Yarn over, insert hook from front side of work to back and to front again around post of indicated stitch; yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops (1 loop on hook).

With A, ch 4.

Round 1: Work 11 dc in 3rd ch from hook (beginning ch count as first dc); join with slip st in top of beginning ch—12 dc.

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), Fpdc around same st as join, *dc in next dc, Fpdc around same dc; repeat from * around; join with slip st in top of beginning ch—12 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Round 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as join, Fpdc around next Fpdc, *2 dc in next dc, dc around next Fpdc; repeat from * around; join with slip st in top of beginning ch—24 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Round 4: Ch 3, dc in same st as join, dc in next dc, Fpdc around next Fpdc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, dc around next Fpdc; repeat from * around; join with slip st in top of beginning ch—36 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Round 5: Ch 3, dc in same st as join, dc in next 2 dc, Fpdc around next Fpdc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, dc around next Fpdc; repeat from * around; change to B; join with slip st in top of beginning ch—48 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Round 6: Ch 3, dc in same st as join, dc in each dc to next Fpdc, Fpdc around next Fpdc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in each dc to next Fpdc, Fpdc around next Fpdc; repeat from * around; join with slip st in top of beginning ch—60 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Rounds 7–9: Ch 3, dc in same st as join, dc in each dc to next Fpdc, Fpdc around next Fpdc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in each dc to next Fpdc, Fpdc around next Fpdc; repeat from * around; change to C; join with slip st in top of beginning ch—96 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Rounds 10–25: Repeat Rounds 6–9 four times, changing colors in the following sequence: Work 4 rounds with C, 4 rounds

with D, 4 rounds with E, and 4 rounds with F—288 dc and 12 Fpdc.

Fasten off.

FINISHING

Weave in ends.
