RED HEART® Super Saver®: 1 skein each 312 Black A and 722 Pretty ‘N Pink BSusan Bates® Crochet Hook: 6mm [US J-10]
Directions are for a teen. Changes for an adult are in parentheses. Wristers measure 7 (9)” [18 (23) cm] circumference at knuckles.
GAUGE: 12 sts and 12 rows = 4” (10cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
NOTE
1. Wristers are worked in turned rows, then seamed leaving opening for thumb.
2.To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Carry old color loosely up side of piece until next needed.
WRISTERS
(Make 2)
With A, ch 18 (22).
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across – 17 (21) sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc Back Loop Only in each st across.
Rows 3-4: Repeat Row 2, changing to B in last st of Row 4.
Rows 5-6: Repeat Row 2, changing to A in last st of Row 6.
Rows 7-10: Repeat Row 2, changing to B in last st of Row 10.
Rows 11-16 (22): Repeat Rows 5-10, 1 (2) time(s).
Rows 17-18 (23-24): Repeat Rows 5-6.
Rows 19-21 (25-27):
Repeat Row 2.
Do not fasten off.
Top Edging
Row 1: Rotate to work along top of Wrister, work 22 (28) sc evenly across.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Fasten off.
Bottom Edging
Join A with slip st in first row end of bottom edge.
Rows 1-2: Repeat Rows 1-2 of Top Edging.
FINISHING
Using photo as a guide, align stitches of Row 1 with Row 21 (27). Sew row ends of top edging together, sew first 3 sts of Wrister, skip next 5 sts on Wrister (thumb hold made), sew remaining 9 (13) sts on Wrister, sew bottom edging row ends. Weave in ends.
