AUNT LYDIA’S® “Classic Crochet Thread”: 2 balls 226 Natural

Crochet Hook: Steel crochet hook size 1.5mm [US 7].
Doily measures 15½” x 22”.
GAUGE: 12 sts and 5 rows in pattern = 1”. CHECK YOUR GAUGE: Use any size hook to obtain required gauge.

SPECIAL STITCHES

space: Dc in dc, ch 2, skip 2 sts.

block: Dc in dc, dc in next 2 dc or 2 dc in next ch-2 space.

double space: Dc in dc, ch 5, skip next 2 ch-3 spaces.

lacet: Dc in dc, ch 3, skip next 2 sts, slip st in next st, ch 3, skip next 2 sts.

Increase blocks at beginning of row: Ch 2 for each additional block, ch 3 (counts as first dc).

Increase blocks at end of row: [Tr in base of last st] 3 times for each additional block.

Decreasing at beginning of row: Slip st in first dc, [sl st in next 3 sts] for each block decrease, ch 3 (counts as first dc) to begin next row.

Decreasing at end of row: Work across following chart to first dc of first block to be decreased, turn leaving remaining sts unworked, ch 3 (counts as first dc), to begin next row.

Ch 75.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across, turn—73 dc; 24 blocks.

Row 2: Ch 8 (counts as ch 5 and dc), dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch (2 blocks), *dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next 2 sts; repeat from * 23 times, dc in next dc, [tr in base of last st made] 6 times (2 blocks), turn—24 spaces and 4 blocks.

Rows 3-110: Work in blacks, spaces, double spaces and lacets following chart. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
