Skill: Easy

Size: About 10″ diameter

Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: White – 3 oz, 150 yds (90 g, 138 m) Red – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m) (Red Heart Eco Cotton)

Crochet Hook: Size G-6 (4.25 mm)

Special Stitches

Front Post Double Crochet: (FPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Back Post Double Crochet: (BPdc): Yo hook, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the FPdc or in front of the BPdc.

Puff Stitch (puff): In same st or sp indicated, [yo hook, insert hook, pull up a loop (to height of hdc)] 3 times, yo and draw through all 7 loops on the hook, sl st in same st or sp.

DISHCLOTH:

Rnd 1: (Right Side) With White, ch 4; 11 dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc). (12 dc) DO NOT JOIN. MARK BEG OF EACH ROUND.

Rnd 2: 2 FPdc around first dc (beg ch-4), 2 BPdc around next dc, [2 FPdc around next dc, 2 BPdc around next dc] around. (24 dc)

Rnd 3: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next BPdc] around. (36 dc – 6 groups of 3-FPdc and 6 groups of 3-BPdc)

Rnd 4: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 2 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 2 BPdc] around. (48 dc – 6 groups of 4-FPdc and 6 groups of 4-BPdc)

Rnd 5: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 3 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 3 BPdc] around. (60 dc – 6 groups of 5-FPdc and 6 groups of 5-BPdc) Drop White to back (do not cut).

Red Rnd 1: With right side facing, holding Red yarn at back of work, pull up lp through back lp of next st (first FPdc), sl st in back lp of next 6 dc, Puff-st in both lps of next dc (center dc of BPdc group), sl st in back lps of next 2 dc, [sl st in back lps of next

7 dc, Puff-st in both lps of next dc, sl st in back lps of next 2 dc] around; join with sl st to first sl st. Finish off Red and weave in ends.

Rnd 6: Continuing with White, [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 4 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 4 BPdc] around. (72 dc – 6 groups of 6-FPdc and 6 groups of 6-BPdc)

Rnd 7: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 5 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 5 BPdc] around. (84 dc – 6 groups of 7-FPdc and 6 groups of 7-BPdc)

Rnd 8: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 6 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 6 BPdc] around. (96 dc – 6 groups of 8-FPdc and 6 groups of 8-BPdc)

Rnd 9: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 7 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 7 BPdc] around. (108 dc – 6 groups of 9-FPdc and 6 groups of 9-BPdc) Drop White to back (do not cut).

Red Rnd 2: With right side facing, holding Red yarn at back of work, pull up lp through back lp of next st (first FPdc), sl st in back lp of next 12 dc, Puff-st in both lps of next dc (center dc of BPdc group), sl st in back lps of next 4 dc, [sl st in back lps of next 13 dc, Puff-st in both lps of next dc, sl st in back lps of next 4 dc] around; join with sl st to first sl st. Finish off Red and weave in ends.

Rnd 10: Continuing with White, [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 8 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 8 BPdc] around. (120 dc – 6 groups of 10-FPdc and 6 groups of 10-BPdc)

Rnd 11: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 9 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 9 BPdc] around. (132 dc – 6 groups of 11-FPdc and 6 groups of 11-BPdc)

Rnd 12: [2 FPdc around next FPdc, FPdc around next 10 FPdc, 2 BPdc around next BPdc, BPdc around next 10 BPdc] around; join with sl st to first dc. (144 dc – 6 groups of 12-FPdc and 6 groups of 12-BPdc) Finish off White and weave in ends.

Red Rnd 3: With right side facing, holding Red yarn at back of work, pull up lp through both lps of next st (first FPdc), sl st in both lps of next 17 dc, Puff-st in both lps of next dc (center of BPdc group), sl st in both lps of next 5 dc, [sl st in both lps of next 18 dc, Puff-st in both lps of next dc, sl st in both lps of next 5 dc] around; join with sl st to first sl st. Finish off Red and weave in ends.
