Skill: Easy

Size:
About 6” wide and 9½” long (without antlers).

Materials:
Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Brown – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m) Pinks – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 46 m) (Lily Sugar ‘n Cream – Warm Brown, Strawberry)

Crochet Hook:
Size J-10 (6.00 mm)

Special Stitches

Half Double Crochet Decrease (hdc dec):
Keeping last loop of each st on hook, hdc in next 2 sts, yo and pull through 3 loops on hook.

DISHCLOTH

Row 1:
(Wrong Side) Starting at top of Frosting, with Pinks, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (9 sc)

Row 2:
Ch 2 (counts as first hdc now and throughout), turn, hdc in first sc, hdc in next 3 sc, 2 hdc in next sc, hdc in next 3 sc, 2 hdc in last sc. (12 hdc)

Row 3:
Ch 2, turn, hdc in first hdc, hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc. (15 hdc)

Row 4
: Ch 2, turn, [hdc in next hdc] across. (15 hdc)

Row 5:
Ch 2, turn, hdc in first hdc, hdc in next 6 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 6 hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc. (18 hdc)

Row 6:
Ch 2, turn, hdc in first hdc, hdc in next 16 hdc, 2 hdc in last hdc. (20 hdc)

Rows 7-8:
Ch 2, turn, [hdc in next hdc] across. (20 hdc)

Row 9:
Ch 2, turn, hdc dec (in next 2 hdc), hdc in next 15 hdc, hdc dec. (18 hdc) dn DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Top Edging

Rnd 10:
Ch 1, turn, working in front loops only, sc in first hdc, [skip next hdc, 5 dc in next hdc, skip next hdc, sc in next hdc] across, sc in last hdc; working in both loops, evenly sc around sides and top of cupcake; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Base

Base Row:
With right side of Top facing, join Brown with sc to back loop of first hdc of Row 9, working in back loops only, [sc in next hdc] across. (18 sc)

Row 1:
Ch 20, working in back loops only, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 18 ch, working in Base Row, sl st in next 2 sc. (19 sc, 2 sl st)

Row 2:
Turn, skip 2 sl sts, working in back loops only, sc in next 19 sc. (19 sc)

Row 3:
Ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in next 19 sc, working in Base Row, sl st in next 2 sc. (19 sc, 2 sl st)

Rows 4-18
: Rep Rows 2-3, ending with Row 2.  Finish off and weave in ends.

    Thank you so much for all these lovely dishcloths. I came in over half thru but I am catching up. I have dedicated a wall in my wash room and have hung them up. They are looking great!!!! I can’t wait til I see the next club. This has been so much fun. You are awsome!!!!

    I actually went out today to get brown cotton yarn so I could make this adorable dishcloth! Thanks Maggie, can’t wait to make this dishcloth! 🙂
