Skill: Easy

Size: About 10½” square.

Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Multicolor – 2½ oz, 125 yd (75 g, 115 m); Dark Purple – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m)(Sugar ‘n Cream -Spring Swirl; I Love This Cotton – Mulberry)

Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

Gauge: 2 patt st groups = 2″, 2 patt rows = 2″.

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

DISHCLOTH

Row 1:
(Right Side) With Multicolor, ch 26, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (25 sc)

Row 2:
Ch 1, turn, (sc, ch 2, 3 dc) in first sc, [skip next 2 sc, (sc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next sc] across.

Rows 3-14:
Ch 4, turn, [skip next 3 dc, (sc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp] across.

Row 15:
Ch 5, turn, skip next 3 dc, [sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, skip next 3 dc] across, ending with sc in turning ch-4.

DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging

Rnd 1:
.Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, 3 sc in next ch-2 sp, [sc in next sc, 3 sc in next ch-2 sp] across to corner, 3 sc in 2nd ch of next ch-4, * working in sides of rows, 3 sc in each ch-4 sp across *, working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 sc in next first ch, sc in next 23 ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *, 2 sc in first sc; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 2:
With right side facing, join Dark Purple with sc to any sc on Rnd 1, ch 2, 2 dc in same sc, skip next sc, [(sc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next sc, skip next sc] around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
