Size: About 8” square

Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: Ecru – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 46 yd); Cream – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 yd); Yellow – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 yd); Multicolor – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 yd) (Sugar ‘n Cream- Soft Ecru, Cream, Country Yellow, Cottage Twists)

Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

TO CHANGE COLORS

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Rnd 1:
(Right Side) Starting at center, with Ecru, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring; ch 1, 8 sc in ring; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)

Rnd 2:
Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in first sc, ch 1, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in next sc, ch 1] around; join. (8 ch-3 sps, 8 ch-1 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 3:
With wrong side facing, join Cream with sc to any ch-1 sp, ch 3, [sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3] around; join. (8 ch-3 sps)

Rnd 4:
Turn, sl st in next ch-sp, ch 1, (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in same sp, ch 1, [(2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in next ch-sp, ch 1] around; join. (8 ch-2 sps, 8 ch-1 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 5:
With right side facing, join Yellow with sl st to any ch-1 sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), (dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same sp, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, [(2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1] around; join with sl st to first dc. (28 sts, 16 ch-1 sps, 4 ch-3 sps)

Rnd 6:
Ch 1, turn, sc in each st and ch-1 sp around, working (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in each corner ch-3 sp; join. (60 sc – 15 sc on each side) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 7:
With right side facing, join Multicolor with sc to any corner ch-sp, ch 2, sc in same sp, ch 1, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc] across to next corner ch-sp, * (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner ch-sp, ch 1, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc] across to next corner ch-sp; rep from * around; join.

Rnd 8:
Sl st to corner ch-sp, ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in same sp, ch 1, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc] across to next corner ch-sp, * (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner ch-sp, ch 1, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc] across to next corner ch-sp; rep from * around; join.

Rnd 9:
Sl st to corner ch-sp, ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch 3), 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, [dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] across to next corner, * (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in corner ch-sp, ch 1, [dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1] across to next corner; rep from * around, ending with dc in first ch-sp; join with sl st to first dc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 10:
With right side facing, join Ecru with sc to any corner ch-sp, ch 2, 2 sc in same sp, ch 2, [sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2] across to next corner, * (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in corner ch-sp, ch 2, [sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2] across to next corner; rep from * around, ending with sc in first ch-sp; join.

Rnds 11-12:
Sl st to corner ch-sp, ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in same sp, ch 2, [sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2] across to next corner, * (sc, ch 2, sc) in next corner ch-sp, ch 2, [sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2] across to next corner; rep from * around; join.

At the end of Rnd 12, finish off and weave in ends.
