#49 Scrubby Crochet Dishcloth

Back to the care of dishcloths – Susan F. wrote: “Wring well, and hang to dry! Since I have been doing this, I’ve had no problems.”

Grandma Carol wrote: “Another tip to prevent bleeding is when washing in cold water, add salt to the water, no soap! NEVER dryer-dry IF using cotton. IF using a dishwasher too, always when starting the washer, lay the cloth on TOP rack (secured) and after the dishwasher has washed the dishes, allow it to “heat dry” them as well, this way all germs in your dishcloth are “toast”!

Another tip to prevent bleeding: I wash first to remove any excess dye, then in the cold rinse add a small splash of vinegar to the rinse and this will “set” the color. This has worked for me for years.

This one was a treat 🙂 I’ve been crocheting for many years and had an idea how this one would come together when I looked at the photo. I was wrong! It turned out to be a lot easier than I expected…. definitely unique 🙂
