Mini Granny Square Christmas Stocking – Free Crochet Pattern

The classic granny square has been around for decades.  It is the foundation of crochet.  I have heard it said that if you can crochet a granny square you can crochet anything.  I tend to agree. There is a special little secret to this granny square!  Here is a clue: When you fold it, it becomes a stocking.  Can it really be called a square?

These Mini Stockings are so quick and easy to make, you will have a great time making several for gifts to give family and friends.  Think of all the scrap yarn you can use up too – remember – reuse and recycle.

MAGGIE, I HAVE BEEN MAKING A SIMILAR STOCKING FOR MANY MANY YEARS USING RED, GREEN AND WHITE, SOMETIMES THE CHRISTMAS YARN WITH SPARKLES AND LEAVING THE TOP OPEN TO BE USED AS A CONTAINER FOR CASH GIFTS. I HAVE USED THE SAME PATTERN IN #30 CROCHET COTTON AND SMALLER AND ATTACHED EAR WIRES FOR EARRINGS. THESE HAVE GONE REALLY WELL AT CRAFT SHOWS. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK THE BOTTLE TOP GRAPE PATTERNS. MY BOOK IS SO TATTERED FROM USE THAT IT IS ALMOST UNREADABLE.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. FRAN NUSE,
