Hexagon Flowers Afghan

One of the first afghans I made was in the seventies.  Orange, kelly green and yellow was a good color combination back then.  It was months before my brother’s wedding and I wanted to make him a granny square afghan for a wedding gift.  I didn’t have any money at the time, so my brother bought the yarn and I crocheted the afghan.  He loved it.  I think he still has that afghan to this day along with others I have given him over the years.

The best part about giving my brother these afghans is the appreciation he expresses at least once a year.  He says: “An afghan is one of the best gifts you can give because everytime you wrap up in it you feel warm thoughts about the person who made it”.  Then he thanks me once again until next time.

It’s a good feeling to make others feel good with our needlework.

This hexagon motif afghan features pink flowers in the center surrounded by a sea of blue.  It is worked in worsted weight yarn with 60 large motifs and 12 fill in motifs.

Can’t see where there are “12 fill in motifs” in this pattern …..

Thank you for spotting this! The 12 fill in motifs are now live on the site. The end section must have been omitted when transferring the pattern online.

Sorry, still couldn’t see where the 12 fill in motifs are supposed to fit.

Sorry. Neither the picture nor the diagram shows “fill-in motifs.”

From what I can see they would go in around the edges where it looks like a motif is missing, where there is an indentation.
