Gauge/Tension:     GAUGE: 2 “ripples” = 4” (10 cm) measured from peak to peak; 19 rows = 4” (10 cm) in ripple pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.

Cowl measures 60” (152.5 cm) around and 7” (18) cm tall.
Special Stitch
dc5tog (double crochet 5 stitches together) = [Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops] 5 times, yarn over, draw through all 6 loops on hook.
Notes
1.Cowl is worked in joined rounds with right side always facing. Do not turn at the beginning of rounds.
2.The cowl is worked in a lacy ripple pattern of 5-dc “peaks” and dc5tog “valleys”. The peaks of each row are worked into the center dc of the 5-dc peaks of the previous row, and the valleys are worked centered over the dc5tog valleys of the previous row.
3.The Cowl can be worked by reading the written instructions.
