Yarn needle.
  Shawl is 18” wide x 56” long.
GAUGE: 15 sts = 4”; 12 rows = 4” in pattern stitch.CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Special Abbreviations
Shell: 5 dc in ch-3 space.
Picot Shell: (Dc, [dc, ch 3, slip st in dc] 3 times, dc) all in same ch-3 space.
SHAWL
FIRST HALF
Ch 65.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, *ch 3, skip 2 ch, sc in next 3 ch, ch 3, skip 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch; repeat from * across.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc, *ch 3, dc in each sc, *ch 3, sc in each dc; repeat from * across.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, skip first sc, dc in next 2 sc, *ch 3, sc in each dc, ch 3, dc in each sc; repeat from *across.
Row 4-60: Repeat Rows 2-3, end with Row 2. Shawl measures 20”. Do Not Fasten Off.
BORDER
Row 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, ch 2, Shell in ch-3 space, *ch 2, skip next st, sc in next st, skip next st, ch 2, Shell in ch-3 space; repeat from * across, ch 2, sc in last st.
Row 2: Ch 5 (counts as dc and ch 2), turn, sc in 3rd dc of Shell, *ch 2, dc in sc, ch 2, sc in 3rd dc of Shell; repeat from * across, ch 2, dc in last sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, sc in ch-2 space, *ch 3, sc in next ch-2 space; repeat from * across working last sc in beginning ch space, sc in 3rd ch of beginning ch-5.

Work as for First Half of Shawl.
