Supplies:

RED HEART® Boutique™ “Big & Lite™”: 3 balls each 9402 Pewter A and 9529 Dark Teal B.

Crochet Hook: 6.5mm [US K-10.5].

Yarn needle.

Size: Bag measures 15” wide x 8” high without straps.

GAUGE: 10 sts = 4”; 7 rows = 4” in dc. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

BAG

Front

With A, ch 40.

Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 38 sts.

Rows 2-12: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch-3; turn.

Row 13: Ch 1, hdc in each dc across and in top of dc; turn

Row 14: Ch 1, hdc in each hdc across. Fasten off.

Back

With B repeat Rows 1-14 same as Front.

Bottom Gusset

With B, ch 45.

Row 1 (Right Side): Hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across; turn – 44 hdc.

Rows 2 and 3: Ch 1, hdc in each hdc across; turn. Fasten off at end of Row 3.

Side Gusset (Make 2)

With A, ch 25.

Row 1 (Right Side): Hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across; turn – 24 hdc.

Rows 2 and 3: Ch 1, hdc in each hdc across; turn. Fasten off at end of Row 3.

Assembly

Sew long edges of Bottom Gusset to lower edges of Front and Back. Sew short edge of Side Gussets to short edges of Bottom Gusset. Sew long sides of Side Gussets to Front and Back.

Front Loops

First Tier

Row 1: Keeping yarn and hook on top of fabric throughout, with right side of Front facing, join B aroundfirst dc of Row 4; ch 1, sc around same dc and around each dc across; turn.

Row 2:  Ch 15, slip st in next sc; repeat from * across. Fasten off.

2nd Tier: Repeat from ** with A on Row 8.

3rd Tier: Repeat from ** with B on Row 12.

Right Side Strap

Row 1: With right side facing, join B in top of right Side Gusset; ch 3, work 4 dc across; turn.

Row 2: Ch 4, skip first dc, tr in each dc across and in top of ch-3; turn.

Rows 3-17: Ch 4, skip first tr, tr in each tr across and in top of ch-4; turn. Fasten off at end of Row 17.

Left Side Strap

Work same as Right Side Strap on left Side Gusset with A. Sew ends of straps together. Weave in all ends
