Poinsettia In A Square Dishcloth

Skill: Easy
Size: About 8″ square
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Red – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m) White – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m) Small Amount Yellow & Green (Sugar ‘n Cream)
Crochet Hook:
Size G-6 (4.25 mm)

Special Stitches
Popcorn (PC):
Work 3 dc in st or sp indicated, drop lp from hook, insert hook front to back in first dc made, pull dropped lp through.

DISHCLOTH:
Rnd 1:
(Right Side) With Yellow, ch 4; join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 2 dc in ring, drop lp from hook, insert hook front to back in first dc (3rd ch) made, pull dropped lp through, ch 1, [PC in ring, ch 1] 3 times more; join with sl st to first dc. Finish off and weave in ends. (4 Popcorn and 4 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 2:
With right side facing, join Red with sc in any ch-1 sp, ch 3, sc in next PC, ch 3, [sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, sc in next PC, ch 3] around; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc and 8 ch-3 lps)
Rnd 3:
Sl st to ch-3 sp, ch 2 (counts as first hdc), (dc, tr, ch 3, sl st in last tr worked, tr, dc, hdc) in same sp, [(hdc, dc, tr, ch 3, sl st in last tr worked, tr, dc, hdc) in next ch-3 sp] around; join with sl st to first hdc. (8 petals) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 4:
With right side facing, join White with sc to any ch-3 sp (tip of petal), ch 6, [sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 6] around; join with sl st to first sc. (8 ch-6 lps)
Rnd 5:
Sl st in ch-6 lp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same lp (corner), 5 dc in next ch-6 lp, [(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next lp (corner), 5 dc in next ch-6 lp] around; join with sl st to first dc. (44 dc and 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnds 6-7:
Ch 3, [dc in next dc] around, working (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in each corner ch-2 sp; join as before. (68, 92 dc)
At the end of Rnd 7, finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 8:
With right side facing, join Red with sc to any corner ch-2 sp, sc in same sp, [sc in next dc] around, working 2 sc in each corner ch-2 sp; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Leaf
With wrong side facing, working between petals on straight edge, join Green with sl st to base of dc of first petal, ch 3, sl st in base of dc on next petal, ch 2, turn, (dc, 2 tr, ch 3, sl st) in ch-3 sp. Finish off and weave in ends.
- Tuck Leaf under White edge so that it shows on the right side of Dishcloth.
