Sunshine Dress Dishcloth

Skill: Easy
Size:
About 10″ wide and 7½” long.
Materials:
Worsted Weight Cotton: White – ½ oz, 25 yd (15 g, 23 m) Yellow – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 46 m) (Peaches & Crème) ¼” Orange Ribbon – 12″ long (Optional)
Crochet Hook:
Size G-6 (4.25 mm)

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches
Beginning Shell (beg-Shell):
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st or sp indicated.
Shell:
(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st or sp indicated.

DISHCLOTH

Yoke
Rnd 1:
(Right Side) With White, ch 8, join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 2, 24 dc in ring, skip ch-2; join with sl st to first dc. (24 dc)
Rnd 2:
Ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch 3), skip next dc, [dc in next dc, ch 3, skip next dc] around; join with sl st in 2nd ch of ch-5. (12 dc and 12 ch-3 lps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 3:
With right side facing, join Yellow with sl st in any ch-3 sp, beg-shell in same sp, ch 1, [shell in next ch-3 sp, ch 1] around; join with sl st to first dc. (12 shells and 12 ch-1 sps)
Rnd 4:
Sl st in next 2 dc, sl st in ch-2 sp, beg-shell in same sp, * tr in next ch-1 sp (between shells), shell in next shell, tr in next ch-1 sp, [shell in next shell, ch 1] twice, 2 shells in next shell (for sleeve) *, [ch 1, shell in next shell] twice; rep from * to * once, ch 1, shell in next shell, ch 1; join with sl st to first dc. (4 tr, 14 shells and 8 ch-1 sps)

Skirt
Row 1:
With right side facing (wrong side together), fold Yoke in half, matching shells and tr between shells, sl st in corresponding dc on other side, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), working through both thicknesses, [shell in next ch-2 sp, shell in next tr] twice, shell in next ch-2 sp, dc in last dc of same shell. Leave remaining sts unworked. (2 dc and 5 shells)
Row 2:
Ch 3, turn, [shell in next shell, tr between shells] 4 times, shell in last shell, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 5 shells and 4 tr)
Row 3:
Ch 3, turn, [shell in next shell, tr in next tr] 4 times, shell in last shell, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 5 shells and 4 tr)
Row 4:
Ch 3, turn, [shell in next shell, 2 tr in next tr] 4 times, shell in last shell, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 5 shells and 8 tr)
Row 5:
Ch 3, turn, [shell in next shell, ch 1, tr in next 2 tr, ch 1] 4 times, shell in last shell, dc in last dc. (2 dc, 5 shells, 8 tr and 8 ch-1 sps)
Row 6:
Ch 3, turn, [shell in next shell, 2 dc in next tr, ch 2, 2 dc in next tr] 4 times, shell in last shell, dc in last dc. (9 shells)
Row 7:
Ch 1, turn, sc in first dc of shell, sc in next dc, [(sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-2 sp, sc in next 4 dc] 8 times, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next ch-2 sp, sc in next 2 dc, sl st in last dc. (53 sc and 9 ch-1 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
If desired, tie Ribbon in bow to front of Dress.
