Skill: Easy
Size: About 8” square, excluding handle and knob.
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Stripes – 2 oz, 100 yds (60 g, 92 m)(Sugar ‘n Cream – Lime Stripes)
Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)
Special Stitches:
Double Crochet Decrease (dc dec): Keeping last loop of each st on hook, dc in next 2 sts, yo and pull through 3 loops on hook.
DISHCLOTH:
Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at base, ch 16, dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped 3 ch count as first dc), [dc in next ch] across. (14 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc. (16 dc)
Rows 3-6: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next dc] across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc. (18, 20, 22, 24 dc)
Row 7: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 20 dc. (22 dc) Leave remaining 2 dc unworked. DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Handle: Do not turn, ch 12, sc in first dc on Row 6, turn, working in ch-12, sc in each ch across. DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Row 8: Working in Row 7, dc in first dc, [dc in next dc] across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc. (23 dc)
Row 9: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, hdc in next dc, sc in next dc, sl st in next 3 dc, sc in next dc, hdc in next dc, dc in next 11 dc, dc dec. Leave remaining dc unworked.
Row 10: Ch 2, turn, dc dec, dc in next 9 dc, hdc in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next 3 sts, sc in next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in last dc.
Row 11: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 3 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next 4 sts, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next 9 dc, dc dec.
Row 12: Ch 2, turn, dc dec, dc in next 5 dc, dc dec. (7 dc) Leave remaining sts unworked.
Row 13: Ch 1, turn, sl st in next 2 dc, (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, sl st) in next dc (knob), sl st in next 2 dc. Leave remaining dc unworked. Finish off and weave in ends.

I made one for myself and each of my boys to remember my mother who collected teapots.
I just made this and it looks beautiful! I made it for a coworker who is always burning herself with her teapot, hope she likes it as much as me.
