Size: About 10” square (14” diagonal)
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn: Purple – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 68 m); Dark Purple – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 68 m)(I Love This Cotton – Amethyst, Mulberry)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
Gauge: 3 sc = 1″, 4 sc rows = 1″.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Dark Purple, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)
Rnd 2: [Sl st in next sc, ch 3] around; join with sl st to first sc on Rnd 1. (8 ch-3 lps)
Rnd 3: Sl st in ch-3 lp, ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in same lp, [(sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-3 lp] around; join with sl st to first sc. (8-petals) Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 1: With right side facing, join Purple with sc to dc of any petal, ch 3, sc in dc of next petal, ch 3, 3 sc in dc of next petal, [ch 3, sc in dc of next petal] twice. (7 sc and 4 ch-3 sps)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, [3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next sc] twice, 3 sc in next (center) sc, [sc in next sc, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp] twice, sc in next sc. (21 sc)
Rows 3-4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across, working 3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group. (23, 25 sc) Change color to Dark Purple.
Row 5: With Dark Purple, ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in each sc across, working 3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group. (27 sc)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across, working 3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group. (29 sc) Change color to Purple.
Row 7: With Purple, ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in each sc across, working 3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group. (31 sc)
Row 8: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across, working 3 sc in center sc of 3-sc group. (33 sc) Change color to Dark Purple.
Rows 9-20: Rep Rows 5-8 three times. (35, 37, 39 … 57 sc)
Rows 21-22: Rep Rows 5-6. (59, 61 sc)
At the end of Row 6, change color to Purple. Finish off Dark Purple and weave in ends.
Edging
Rnd 1: With Purple, ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in first 30 sc, 3 sc in next (center) sc, sc in next 29 sc, 3 sc in last sc; * working in sides of rows, sc in next 21 rows *, ch 3, sc in dc on next petal, ch 3, 3 sc in dc on next petal, ch 3, sc in dc on next petal, ch 3; rep from * to *, 2 sc in first sc; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, 3 sc in next (center) sc, sc in next 22 sc, [3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next sc] twice, 3 sc in next (center) sc, [sc in next sc, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp] twice, sc in next 22 sc, 3 sc in next (center) sc, sc in next 31 sc, 3 sc in next (center) sc, sc in next 30 sc; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 3: With right side facing, working in back loops only, join Dark Purple with sc in center sc of any 3-sc group, 2 sc in same sc, sc in each sc around working 3 sc in center sc of each 3-sc group; join.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, DO NOT TURN, sl st in each sc around; join with sl st to first sl st. Finish off and weave in ends.
