Size: About 9” square
Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn:
Blue – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 45 m)
Green – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 45 m)
White – 1 oz, 50 yds (30 g, 45 m)
(Lily Sugar ‘n Cream – Robins Egg Blue, Hot Green, White)
Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

Row 1: (Right Side) Starting at the point, with Blue, ch 4, 2 dc in 4th ch from hook. (3 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), turn, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next (center) dc, dc in last dc.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 2 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next dc, dc in next 3 dc.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 5 dc.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 6 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 7 dc.
Row 6: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 8 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 9 dc.
Row 7: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 10 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 11 dc.
Row 8: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 12 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 13 dc.
Row 9: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 14 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 15 dc.
Row 10: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 16 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 17 dc. Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 11: With right side facing, join White with sl st to first dc, ch 3, turn, dc in next 18 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 19 dc.
Row 12: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 20 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 21 dc. Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 13: With right side facing, join Green with sl st to first dc, ch 3, turn, dc in next 22 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 23 dc.
Row 14: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 24 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 25 dc.
Row 15: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 26 dc, 5 dc in ch-2 sp, dc in next 27 dc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Edging
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join White with sc to last dc made on Row 15, 2 sc in same dc, sc in next 26 dc, (2 sc in next dc, sc in next dc) 3 times, sc in next 24 dc, 3 sc in last dc, working over posts of dc in side of rows, 2 sc in next 15 rows, 3 sc in starting ch, working in sides of rows, 2 sc in next 15 rows, join with sl st to first sc.

    My great aunt gave me instructions for making one similar to this one using thread. She made a lot of them in her lifetime and gave them away to just about everyone. She was still making them when she passed at the age of 93.

    This one is really pretty…. and great for using up tiny scraps! I can see that I will be making more of these with little leftover bits.
