Easy Granny Square Christmas Stocking – Free Crochet Pattern

So far I have found three versions of the Granny Square Christmas Stocking.  I am sure I will find others.  This design seems to be the easiest of all to create with worsted weight yarn and the basic granny square design. The heal and toe squares have a change to the outer round but it still is very easy to crochet.   Make several of these nostalgic granny square stockings for family and friends.  Use up scraps of worsted weight yarn and crochet these stockings in several unique color combinations.

    HI
I just found this pattern yeasterday and I made it over night and i would like to say that it is really easy. I have tried to make stockings a number of times and I could not do it at all. BUT if you can make a granny square you can make this one!

    Thank you!!

    Hello!

Do you know if one stocking uses up one skien of yarn? I am planning to make these as Christmas gifts and since I am making them for 27-30 people I need to get started so they might be done before Christmas Eve! LOL

I’m so glad you posted this! These are the same stockings that my grandmother made for Christmas years ago! We lost them somehow and I’ve been trying to replicate them from memory without much success.
